Student Concert Wednesday
June 11, 7:30 p.m.

First Congregational Church, Corvallis

Arietta Piano QuartetCorvallis’ Arietta Piano Quartet has just been identified as one of the 30 top youth chamber groups in the world. They travel the weekend of May 9-11 to Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, to compete with the other Junior Division ensembles (ages 18 and under) at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, which also draws musicians from South America, Asia, and Europe.

The Arietta Piano Quartet has worked together for two years. It consists of sophomore Amy Wu, piano; freshman Joyce Kwan, violin; senior Adam Matthes, viola; and freshman Amy Kwon, cello. All are Crescent Valley high school students and members of the Corvallis Youth Symphony (in which pianist Amy Wu is principal flute.)

After the Chintimini Festival musicians arrive in Corvallis, violinists Erik Peterson and Anthea Kreston and cellist Jason Duckles will coach them both as a quartet and in smaller ensembles.

Their concert includes Brahms and Mozart and more. No tickets are offered in advance for this concert. Free to Chintimini season ticket holders, it is also a bargain for others at $6 adults, $2 students – or, at the request of the quartet, 3 cans or boxes of food per audience member for Linn-Benton Food Share.

Season ticket holders are also welcome to contribute to Food Share!
