Carl EgbertCarl Egbert began playing double bass while attending Corvallis High School. He received his his undergraduate degree in Music Education at Oregon State University before going on to study with Tyler Abbott at the University of Oregon, where he was a runner-up in the Concerto Competition, and then with Professor Bruce Bransby at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. While at IU, he attended the Aspen Music Festival, where he performed with the Aspen Festival Orchestra. He has received additional instruction from Lawrence Hurst, Jeff Bradetich, Maximillian Dimoff, and Owen Lee.

Carl lives in Portland, Oregon, where he performs regularly with the Oregon Symphony as a substitute musician, as well as with other area orchestras such as the Vancouver, Eugene, and Corvallis-OSU symphonies.
