Abby Raymond 2016Abby Raymond has held the position of Second/E-flat/Assistant Principal Clarinet in the Colorado Symphony since 2001. She had previously been a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago, Chile. She has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival, and Round Top Music Festival and has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Tucson Symphony, and the Texas Festival Orchestra. Abby holds a Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and did graduate study at Rice University and Boston University. She has served as adjunct professor of clarinet at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music.

Abby has been part of many Chintimini festivals! – in 2004 it was Mozart, Brahms, solo Stravinsky, and the great Brahms F minor sonata.  In 2008 there were Martinu, Stravinsky’s L’histoire, a sextet commissioned from Jacob Avshalomov, and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. In 2015 Abby performed Dohnányi, Prokofiev, and Kenji Bunch’s woodwind quintet Shout Chorus.
